Great mumble chatter welcoming Cowboy back. Props to Ickey and DigDug.

WoW:

Take care of yourself. The summer is nearly here, and many opportunities for CSAUPs and other activities. Don’t push yourself to the point of injury. Get better…yes…but stay healthy. The goal is to keep coming back.

Live, Learn and Evolve – Rain or Shine

Pax: Dialup, Xbox, Thriftshop, FSBO, schnitzel,Giftbox, Jermaine, Icky, Dilfer, Spotlight(VQ)

10 HIM’s dared to get better even though unusually it was wet and cold. I largely blame the sprinklers than the rain. 🙂

Stared off with disclaimer for my practice although there were no FNG’s.

Thang:
Warmup: SSH, Cotton Pickers, Arm circles , Shoulder rotations and Windmills (Dilfer thought I called out Women, my accent issues. :-))

Mosey to the tennis courts

Red Barchetta – Run to the First Court – 100 SSH’s run back to the starting point, Run to the second court – 75 Mountain climbers run back to the starting point, Run to the third court – 50 LBC run back to the starting point, Run to fourth court – 25 merkins run back to the starting point, Run to the other end – 10 Burpees run back to the starting point. Wait for the 6 (Either Plank or balls to wall choice is yours! – Dilfer appear to have liked the options, he chuckled )

Mosey to the other end of the parking lot, Divided into 5 teams of 2 members each. Each team called(Superman/Squats/..) out an exercise for rest of the teams and they complete a run around the parking lot. (Bonding time).

Swedish mile in the parking lot, last person completes 5 burpees before joining the head of the line, everyone completed their chance except me. (Icky and Dilfer modified and did various other exercises)

Mosey to “the hill” – Lunging to the top of the hill, back to the bottom of the hill by break crawling. (Repeato) – Mumblechatter – Icky thought I would skip the hill based on my comment but I was determined to add it to the mix.

Mosey to the starting point: (Partnered up).

One partner planking and other partner ran up the hill did 5 pull ups and back.

6MOM –

Giftbox – Share about his recent bad experience and he is trying the meditation avenue to help with his situation.

VQ words: Shared a quote from the book I completed reading in 2 days(30day goal improvement). “Effort does not guarantee success but it only removes guarantee of failure” – Essentially the point is that if you have not tried it then you have quit before joined the race. I thank F3 and I keep trying so that I get better every-time. – Live, Learn and evolve.

Thank you men for giving the opportunity to lead today, this is my first VQ. I will work on my cadence a bit and you will see a new improved me next time! Have a good rest of the day!

I’ve been with F3 going on 2 years, thanks to an invitation from Rivet. I can honestly say it’s helped me grow in many ways, especially leadership.  Q’ing has brought me the confidence to recently coach my daughter’s b-ball team, something I’ve never done before.   F3 is indeed a great gift, the rewards of which are  many fold. Thank you for allowing me to lead.

Get after it, gentlemen.

Q2/5

GoRuck D-Day Light (CSAUP)

Event: GoRuck D-Day Light Memorial (Seattle, WA.)
PAX: The Natural, Xbox, Journey, 529’er
The Thang:
Start in Puget Sound @ Myrtle Edwards Parkwith a few hydro burpees (in 3-4 foot deep water) & flutters w/ rucks on. Ruck to Kerry Park, MOHAI, Freeway Park, and back to start. PT was nearly non-existent, but the distance / weight was pretty good for a Light event. Team weights included 25 lb. D-Day memorial crate, large water container, medical ruck with full kit, 6-ish 40 lb. sandbags and a couple 60 lb. bags. This was a memorial event for D-Day. Cadre shared some great stories and information about the invasion itself, and individuals in the group shared stories of individual soldiers on the ground (researched and memorized beforehand).
– Total time: Just over 5 hours.
– Total distance: Just over 6 miles.
– Total ascent: 573 ft.
Takeaway: Light events have a 100% completion rate for a reason. They are fun, but they are not very tough. There may be some challenging moments, but overall it is pretty easy going. Great entry point for PAX into the world of rucking events. If someone has been doing F3 consistently for just a few months, they can absolutely do a GoRuck Light. Great confidence builder for moving up to Tough and beyond.

ABORT MOSEY! – Operation find Spotlights keys.

Blue leads us in 6MOM of Butterfly Situps, Flutter, and Upright Flutter.

MOLESKIN
Blue in his weight vest is a sight. A 200 pound beast of man in armor, carrying an 80lb sand bag running around … yeah, that drew some looks.

Dilfer, with his “eff this wheelbarrow junk” opting instead to fireman carrying Dig Dug like he was a twig was a special moment.

Ickey’s return was made official with his “Really? Crawl-bear all that way?” mumblechatter

FSBO while crushing out bent-over-rows looked up to find his partner (YHC?) not moving gave a special brand of encouragement with his “Get running!” comment.

Dilfer’s response to aid while clearly looking like he was going to splash with “No, it’s fine. I’m just dizzy.” showed the spirit of a true fucking warrior.

WORDS
From Ickey- Sometimes, we don’t realize how good we’ve got it. Ickey recently experienced this firsthand with being IR for the last 3 months and unable to participate in F3. Besides Ickey clearly growing rotund and out-of-shape, the real hit was on the 2F. Don’t take it for granted.
